LP tank not filling....

We have a 50 gal LP tank which seems to provide 6 months or so of service. Went to get some yesterday and the tech said it wasn't filling. Something about the valve being stuck. Wacked on it a few times trying to "unstick" it. Wouldn't work. Have about 1/4 tank worth of LP.

Do I need to replace the valve or is this just a simply thing? I've never read a thread on this issue.

I would take it some place that works with that. Sometimes it just pays to know your limitations!

Not all techs are really up on what's going on. I would try a different LP facility in case you happened upon one of them. An LP tank indicating 25% that won't allow itself to be filled would be on the unusual side. Not impossible, just unlikely....

Our local propane dealer has different adapters for filling rv tanks. Make sure your propane guy is using the right attachment. Have they filled your tank before?

Had the same issue at a Thousand Trails-Orlando. Tech tried twice. Operator error.

Have filled it several times during the last 18 months. Not a problem. Was told by the tech that the valves sometimes stick closed. Will certainly try somewhere else. Thanks.
