I've perused the forums and the web seeking a similar problem to mine and found no answers.
I have a 1997 Four Winds 5ther. It has the Magnetek 6345 Converter w/ one 12vdc battery. Over the last few months it has been tripping the main breaker any time it has a bit of a load on. For example; AC running (above 90F) and electric water heater comes on, the breaker will trip. Any time we use the microwave ALL 120 vac appliances must be off. We recently moved to a new parking place, same issue so shouldn't be the incoming AC. The previous owner replaced the main breaker with a 30A a little over a year ago. Any suggestions?

Start with a visual and mechanical inspection of the distribution panel wiring connections to insure they are clean and tight. Then with a clamp on amp meter verify that you are not overloading the main breaker when the loads are added. You can only run up to 30 amps total load. This means that with the converter charging the battery, an air conditioner running, a TV on, you don't have enough amperage capacity to turn on a water heater or sometimes a microwave; especially if you might be under a low voltage situation.

Well if you have a 6300 that means you have a 30 amp rig, cause they don't use that model in 50's.
My Air conditioner, normally runs fine on a 15 amp line, but if the voltage goes down a bit due to overload of the park system or an area wide brownout.. the current can start to climb, higher temps also increase current draw, 20 amps breakers start to go "CLICK"
Add in the 10 amps or so of the water heater and the 30 amp breaker goes CLICK as well.
Moral: CHECK YOUR VOLTAGE (120 volt) a common Kill-a-watt, meter, in voltage mode, plugged into any outlet will work here.
Comment: The Magnetic 6300 is a very poor converter/charger, I recommend a visit to [ur]http://www.bestconverter.com[/url] Get a good unit there, Say a Progressive Dynamics 9145 with charge wizard option or a 9245 (Built in) and gue the 6300 (or just disable the converter part (Disconnect 120 volt wire) Your batteries will thank you by lasting longer.

Well I pulled the converter/charger out and it was filthy. Had an 1/8 inch of dust. I brushed and vacuumed everything (Amazing what can fall under there!) then started checking amperages: AC=6.8-7.5a; Microwave= 7.5a + 1a always on; water heater = 12a. A Ckt. breaker riveted to the back keeps going on/off. The current jumps from 13a to 16.5a as the breaker cycles. This with the AC on and a couple PCs, router, TV, and DVD on.
At the Batt. with all AC off I only read 9vdc. With charger running 12-13vdc. Obviously I need a Batt., the previous owner put in a cheap auto Batt. Guess I'll try to repair what I have, can't afford to replace it right now (laid off 2 Wks ago ). Advice?
