Materials to quiet generator noise?

After doing a little reading, I'm seeing that materials like this:

https://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-...04?recordNum=1

...may work best, with a multi-layer absorber/decoupler type construction.

But I wanted to get some input here, as generator noise is something that just about all RV users have to deal with.

Can't hear my generators over the sound of the air conditioner, or at least I'm ignoring the noise well.

I was considering using Dynamat on the floor in the rear, over the generator...

Me too! I find the sound of the furnace blower or the AC irritating but not as much as being too hot or cold.

The real problem is other people's generators. There you are off yourself enjoying the the sound of the wind and the waves. The you have some one park next to you and start there generator and let it run all night.

The simple truth is if your want to reduce the noise from your generator you are missing the big picture. Find a place to be that does not require running your generator for long periods of time.
