My wife called me last night & said the microwave stopped while she was using it. Lost all power. She reset the circuit breaker several times, checked for a blown fuse on the fuse panel, made sure the switch for house current did not get turned off and made sure the gfi was not popped, reset it anyway. She still has no power. If memory serves me right she did say the stove light was still working.

This microwave is a combo convection oven, microwave, stove hood, & light. I do not know the brand name on the unit. It is the original unit in our 2004 Coachman Aurora 34.5 mounted above the stove. I hope to be there tonight and will get more info on the brand & model tomorrow.

Does anyone have any idea as to what I might try to regain power back to this microwave? Are there internal resets? If I have to replace this unit, is there a difference between a RV microwave/convection oven and one made for a stick built home?

If this is in fact an over the range micro convection oven and the surface light and interior light come on the unit has power. I take it that the display does light up. Will it cook by pressing minute plus? If not the control board or other internal component is bad. I used to have to replace a lot of door switches as the power and connections would burn them up. There is no difference between and over the range (30") unit in an RV and one in a home.

Brand of unit is Apollo Model # AAC 24-B1-B. The fan and light underneath the unit work. No power to the control board. Pressing & holding any button does not light it up. Hubby is currently taking the unit down.

Update on microwave: The Thermal Fuse was blown. Easy repair. Tough to find the part. I could have ordered it from Apollo, But would have been $30 + S/H & I needed to get it fixed before I flew back to CLT this Thurs. I checked with several appliance repair centers & parts distributors & finally found one who was able to get the TCO by tomorrow. However I went to Radio Shack & they sent me to Gateway Electronics. They new exactly what it was & had several of them in stock. I bought 2 at $1.95 each.

RV Wizard thanks for your help.

Since it was a thermal fuse issue, you need to find out why. Usually this means an air flow problem. Which one blew? One at magnetron tube or one by oven cavity? I am sure you may have blew out any dust you found and that may be all that was needed. Be sure the fan is operating before you re-install just in case it is stuck or bad. Good luck and keep us posted.

RV Wizard, 3 things I know about thermal fuses. 1) they blow if the circuit over heats, 2) they blow if the temp around them overheats, 3) they fail because they are the worst electronic componet used in this application. Some say Lucas may have invented them.
Now to verify the tco did not fail due to the first 2 I checked to make sure there wasn't any other problems in the circuit, none found. I made sure the area was clean, It was. The microwave now works as it did prior to the fuse going bad. I am sure the fuse just lived out its life to the extent that it was going to. Thanks for your help.
