monitor panel lights off/water heater wont turn on

Hi - I was hoping you could resolve a monitor panel problem. It would seem that there is no power going to the unit itself, however when you flick the switch for the water pump it does work. It is the light indicators for the levels (propane, battery, tanks, etc) that do not operate. Now we hooked up to 15 amp service in our driveway. What my main problem is that in order to to turn my hot water heater on I usually flick the switch on my monitor panel. The light usually comes on and I hear the hot water heater start up. Now the light not only stays off, but the water heater does not turn on!! I thought there might be a fuse behind the monitor panel but there is not. How do I check if it is the water heater or the monitor panel that is not working. I am thinking it is the monitor as the other lights are not working either. I have an Atwood water heater. This is a Class C 2002 Coachmen. Please help.

It's been my experience that you hit the switch for the water heater , the light goes on momentarily, then goes out, but you can hear the main flame on the propane operated heater stay on. Sometimes, if it hasn't been used in a while (months) it may take three or four tries to get it to ignite and stay on. Do you have propane? Is your battery charged up?

monitor panel lights off/water heater wont turn on

Thanks for responding!! I have been living in my RV for a few months now and have used the hot water heater several times. I know the sound you mean that lets you know the water heater is fired up, but after several tries flicking the switch on and off (waiting several minutes) nothing at all happens. Since the level of battery power doesn't show up on the monitor panel anymore, I can't see the level it is at. When I unplug from shore power, all the DC run items are working fine. I have been plugged in for a couple weeks and understand that my converter keeps my house battery charged. I also checked the fuse on the water heater itself and it shows continuity. If something is out on my water heater it would not explain why the monitor panel does not light up for the LP, Battery and Holding Tank levels. Propane is full and I should still hear that "fired up sound trying to ignite even if I didn't have propane coming to it. I have a feeling it is something simple that I am just not thinking of. Just retired recently, living on Social Security in my RV on a friends property. Hate to take it to a repair shop and get charged for something that is not that complicated to fix myself......If only I knew what it was!
