Who has it and how does it work. Help

After reading up on how hard it's going to be to get my KVH R6 working on my DVR in HD, I'm considering scrapping it and installing a Motosat MHDTV dish.

Thanks
Raphael

I have the MotoSAT MHDTV, and although I don't use it for HD yet, it does find all 3 satellites, when deployed.

I expect no problems when I go HD.

Every now and then it seems to take longer to find the satellites, and it always does find them. Once locked on the satellites, it works perfectly.

Once parked, I turn on the TV, DVR, and the MotoSAT Nomad 2 controller. Press "find" on the controller, and that's it. It does a preprogrammed search of the sky, and about 5 to 7 minutes later, it's locked on the satellites.

Opening up an old topic....

I see the MHDTV has two coax outputs. Are these stacked outputs, or what? I really need something that works just like the current DirectTV Phase III dish, which has 4 outputs, so you can get both phases from both satellites at the same time (110 piggybacks on 119).

I need to feed 2 dual tuner DirectTivo units. Is that going to work or am I going to need 2 dishes? (Ouch)

Hmm. Wonder if there's going to be room on the roof. Also need an F1 or F2 for internet.

My KingDome has dual lNBs and I feed a pair of dual feed DTV TIVO units. I installed a 2x4 multiswitch, which basically takes the dual LNBs and makes it into 4 outputs.

You mean your Kingdome has one dual-LNB (one LNB, two outputs for both polarizations). You can only pick up one satellite at a time, right?

The MHDTV picks up three sats at the same time, but the internal circuitry makes it look like it's only two sat locations. In order to feed both sats, both polarizations, to multiple receivers, it's going to need to stack the outputs (with a destacker before the switch), or it needs 4 outputs. But I don't think it has a built in stacker, so I don't think it's going to work.

Hoping I'm wrong.

The MHDTV comes standard with 2 coax outputs.

I ordered mine with the optional 4 coax outputs, as I have 2 DVR's.

I could record 4 different programs if I wanted.

DirecTV doesn't use Tivo anymore. They have their own DVRs.

I have a MHDTV and a F1 on the roof, and still have room for solar panels.

Ah, didn't know that 4 outputs was an option for the MHDTV. That would solve the problem nicely.

DirecTV doesn't sell the DirecTivo units anymore, but they still work and are supported. We have three of them (one HD, two SD). So we're going to be cutting back from three to two.

There will be no charge for the assistance.
