My HWH leveler problem fixed

I asked a question online here a while ago about our HWH system. A nice gentleman PM's me and gave me his phone number so i could call him about my problem. After a discussion he told me how to go about fixing my unit and after about two hours of work I no longer have a problem with the leveling.

I ran it up and down numerous times and in different degrees of terrain slope and the system worked as advertised. I want to thank this man personally and will call him tomorrow but I am so pleased with the results I had to tell everyone.

It was simply a cleaning and relubricating of the jack knees and manually working the system to make sure all the imbedded dirt and crud from the years of use was eradicated from the jacks and making the jacks ultra flexible when the controls were applied. I knew nothing of the system or how it should work and after his coaching I fixed the problem very quickly. I also know that these jacks should be cleaned and lubricated annually.

I live in the boonies and there are no large RV repair places close to hand and I really appreciated the advise offered so freely.

Thanks possum. That may be the se problem I have. May right rear jack almost always sticks. Mine flip up, so I have been just easing far ward till it comes up. So it sounds like you clean the hinge area with something like WD 40, hand work it up in down by hand? Is that correct?

Actually I was told not to use the WD products as it causes sticking of the dirt. I used a spray brake cleaner https://www.acklandsgrainger.com/AGI...150713050254:s and then once clean I used http://www.lpslabs.com/product-details/560 to lubricate the moving areas.I would think any brake cleaner and slick lubricant would work but these products were to hand so i sued them.

My original problem was the jacks would start to extend before the vertical was reached and I would have to fool with it to pull it to vertical while my DW cringed and thought of missing appendages.

Thanks Possum, I'll try the brake cleaner. The one I am having problems with also does not always get totally vertical sometimes. Hope this helps. I was going to try to replace the springs.

Thanks again,
Charlie

Cliff, after all I've gotten from this august assembly it feels fairly good to be able to give back.
