You might try www.partsfortechs.com. They have all kinds of parts and items for servicing gennys and have very reasonable pricing and ship quickly. I have had very good luck with them.
Good luck, good health and safe travels!

I went through the exact same issue with ours last year. You cannot buy the board. You need to purchase the complete inverter assembly. I found it at dealers for $1795.00 If you let a onan/cummins dealer do it there will be a guarantee. If you do it yourself and it don't work you lose.

Being a diehard DIY person myself, I would go for the board as well if there was a potential to save that kind of money.

I'm not familiar with this board in particular, but speaking in general terms, if the board is accessible, there are people who can repair them. Actually, some of those boards are not that difficult to repair yourself with just a basic understanding of electronics (working knowledge of soldering, diodes, resistors, etc.). Then there's also the used market.

In my experience, "not available" just means one has to dig a little deeper, look a little harder. It's not a death sentence. -Al

I dug for a month last year. Could not find just the board anywhere. No one had any knowledge of it. Had to replace the whole assembly. My generator was from 1999 so they could have changed the board from then to now. But yours is a 1998 so probably the same part.

Good news for you! I personally am hugely annoyed at this "disposable" world we have entered and the inability to find or repair subcomponents.
And thanks for updating your post so the rest of us can benefit when our boards fail!

If you could post details of what they had to fix that would be great.
