I've got 8 AGM 6-volt batteries. A couple of days ago, I realized that my charger had died. And I had been sucking power out of the batteries. The inverter/charger is under warranty, so I had to pull it and send it in. It's still going to be another 3 days or so before I get the new one.

The problem is that the batteries are now so low that I'm getting a low voltage signal from the refrigerator. I've only got one light being used right now, and it's flourescent.

I need, somehow, to charge the batteries so I can continue to use them until the charger gets here. I've got a battery charger from Sears -- is there any way possible that I can use that, from an external power source, to charge up those AGM's? If I were to hook up the positive to the positive on the first one, and the negative on the last one, would it charge the batteries, or would it do more harm than good.

If it looks like that will work, do I select the 6-volt or 12-volt settings?

I'm afraid that I'm not really going to make it for another 3 days without causing some serious damage to the batteries.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Ken, you can recharge the AGM battery bank with the Sears charger by selecting the 12 volt setting and connecting the positive lead of charger to the positive cable from the inverter/charger and the negative charger lead to the negative cable from the inverter/charger. Be sure to insolate the positive cable terminal from shorting out to ground or frame of coach.

Thanks, Mike.

Yesterday evening, there was so little juice left that the refrigerator wouldn't run on propane. By this morning, that was OK, and it's making progress. It's obviously going to take a while, but that's fine.
