My gray water valve was not leading. However the square piece that the valve bolts to is broke on the top two bolts. How do I replace this? All part look glued with the exception of the very large hose clamp coming out of the gray water tank. Here is a photo

The right is 1½' valve, the left is the 3" black water waste valve. Not sure if you can see the breaks just below the top bolt on the right side of the waste valve.

thanks for your help

You can either go to your local RV dealer to see if they have what you need or go to home depot, they have in their plumbing department a product called stretch and seal made by Nashua products. There website is WWW. berryplastics.com

However I don't believe the tape can help since the break is on the flange where the two top bolts bolt the waste valve into place see here

I tried to put my comments with point on the break...however, I'd never heard of the product you mentioned...I think if nothing else...good to have on hand.

Thanks

I'm not sure what the hoseclamp is securing but if you can gain some flexibility by loosening it up and then take both guillotine valves apart maybe the whole assembly will drop out. Then you can replace one or both valves and keep the old 3" as a backup.

Here is a replacement for the whole valve assembly:

It's a pretty standard part, I found this one at "tweetys.com.

If the grey is broken the black is probably close behind and you don't want that one to leak!

The rest is just standard PVC fittings.

Replace the whole valve. It comes with the hardware. I did and it took me 2 hours in the hot 95* sun. Good luck!

How did you remove it? With a sawsall? Can you 'unglue' glued joints?

No, it can not be "unglued" ..... There should be a hose clamp on the 3" side as well ????
Undo both clamps and remove the entire unit then, with a new valve unit from Tweetys and pipe pieces found at Lowes/Home Depot make a "new unit" with the same measurements.
These are standard house plumbing pieces and sizes including the rubber "hoses" that the clamps attach to.

If you just unbolt both the grey and black valves you can remove the center portion of the valve. If I read your post correctly that will remove the cracked area. then just replace the new valves and center plastic.
If I did not look at the picture correctly and the broken plastic is glued in place please forgive me. As my comment will be incorrect.

These are standard ABS plumbing fittings. Not the special RV fittings with the valves though. You could try getting some ABS glue at Home Depot (it will be black like the pipe) and see if you can glue it back together. It must be above 55 degrees and very dry and clean. Let it cure for at least 48 hours before putting the bolts back in and do not tighten too much.
