Need new frame mount LP tank for my 79... is this what I want?

Our 79 Shasta class C has a leaky LP tank. Yeah, that was a fun winter smelling propane and not using the furnace. ugh.

Anyways, fixing up our baby and I'd like to get the LP system back up and running.

Wondering if this tank is what I want? $200 shipped doesn't sound too bad!

And yes, I'm sure the tank is bad! It's original anyways, not safe!!

Terrible seller, but that is probably a DOT cylinder, and NOT an ASME tank, which you need.

What is the difference? The ad did say RV applications.

More like this one?

DOT cylinders can be transported separately and are rated differently.
ASME tanks are fixed and again, rated different.

"RV applications" means generic. RVs are trailers and MHs.

I did also notice that the RV-style refil port isn't on that first tank. Second one it is unless there's a better deal out there!

Aw we really appreciate the offer. If our rig was in better shape we'd come get it! But you're literally on the opposite side of this big country

That is a frame mounted, ASME tank. Only you can tell if it fits your opening and if you can bolt it up, but that is made for a MH.

As long as it's the -type- that I need I'm good! It measures correctly and has the right connection. I don't see an electronic connection for the sensor to the interior meter though.

The gauge dial can be replaced if you really want to, that's easy.

I know. You can replace the dial with one that has connections to feed signal to your meter inside.
