I have a AC/Heat pump that the compressor went south. I need to purchase a new one. Dometic model #630515 is the old number, or the new one is 651515. They are selling for around $1100+ shipping, anybody out there see a better deal? You all have been able to come up with good deals, help me out! I would prefer to get new rather than used. Thanks

Depending on the age of the entire unit changing out the compressor might not be a cost wise move considering price of compressor/labor/clean up of condensor and evaporator (necessary since compressor failed) and refrigerant unless able to do it themselves. Would estimate such between $700-800

Thats about right, overall a new unit makes better sense! I just would like to find a better deal and keep the cost down!

PPL in Houston would be my suggestion. Good prices, good service. Had the front ac/heatpump go out on our mh about (2) yrs ago and bought one from them. Ordered on a thurs and had it delivered the following mon.

To further add to previous recommendations, I would go to the 15000 btu size unit if the one you currently have is a 13500 btu. We had (2) of the Coleman 13500 high efficency ac/hp's and replaced the front one with a 15000. It is does very well by itself to heat/cool our mh.

RVhauler is right and if you do not do the cleanup right the new compressor will burn out too.
