New Dometic AC unit doesn't work

The original 120v ac unit gave up, so I called Camping world and the parts gal there called Dometic to find out what would be a suitable replacement. I wound up with a Dometic model 640315.301. She referred to it as a Penguin, but nothing indicates that on the box or lit. At any rate, after getting it installed I turn the mechanical rotary switch to AC, and nothing. If I continue around with the switch to the fan only side, I get fan Hi and Lo, I also get the fan when the switch is moved to Heat, although there is no heat strip installed. This unit has two rotary switches, one for AC and fan operation, and another for setting desired temp.

I assumed it was a defective unit so I took it back to the vendor and exchanged it for a different unit. Got that one installed, same problem!

I am wondering if the air distribution box (3310700) controls are compatable with the recently upgraded 640XXX ?

I'm pretty frustrated, any help would be appreciated.

I would call Dometic and they will answer your questions.

The harness from the ceiling assmy to the roof unit should be compatible. you may ahve a loose pin in the connector or the switch in the assmy is bad.
