New Propane Tanks

I ordered two new propane tanks because mine where out dated by a long time. I found out the hard way on my last camper when they are out date trying to get them filled. I know you can get them inspected but I am not sure around here where. They where $112.95 plus free shipping.

We bought two 100 pounders for extended stay. I bought one used on Craigslist (stamped in 2012) and one new one but paid $140 for it. So it sounds like you got a great price.

No need to buy new........
You have a 2002 trailer which probably has TWO 20# CYLINDERS (tanks used in motorhomes)

They require 're-certification' 12 yrs AFTER mfg. date stamped on collar.
A 'visual' inspection is good for 5 yrs. And then can be re-certified over and over.
Cost is minimal........$12 to $30 depending on locales.
Bulk propane dealers do 're-certifications' (Amerigas, Suburban Propane, Ferrellgas etc.) and some independent vendors.

Some folks just swap them out at one of those Exchange Places when 're-certification' is needed.
They justify it by 'exchange places short fill cylinders' and it is 'just part of doing business'
Seems a bit shady to me.

Cancel your order/send them back.
Unless you want 4 cylinders.

The new ones will need to be 'purged' before being filled. (Shipped with air.air has to be expelled or it will cause pinging issues with propane and regulator)
The place that can/will purge them properly most likely can handle 're-certifications' of your older cylinders.
