I have a 2005 Winnebago Adventurer. The hot water heater produces hot water but when I use the sink faucet none comes out. All valves are turned to the correct position. Sometimes BLACK water comes out the hot side, sometimes just cold water. Checked everything I could think of but no difference. Does anyone have a suggestion? I'm thinking I might have to take it to a service center. Thanks.

When you say "black water," I assume you mean dark-colored water, not water from your black waste tank. Dark-colored (black) water can be caused by a charcoal filter going bad and starting to break up. This loose charcoal can clog sink aerators.

Did you check the winterizing bypass valves to make sure they are in the correct position? How about the outside shower? If someone left the hot and cold water valves on and turned off the water using the valve on the shower head, that can really play havoc with your hot water flow.

Water heater Bypass valve set correctly? (Operators manual page 6-12/13)
Winterizing valve set correctly? (Operators manual page 10-13)

If you need them:

I've been messed up by the outside shower thing....
"Honey why don't we have any hot water?" is heard loudly from the bathroom...

I'd flush the whole system out, starting with the water heater. Open the access panel and Take the plug out of the bottom, then run lots of water through it until it runs clear. Find and change all the filters. Take off and clean all the aerators, and flush water though the whole system while the aerators are off, one faucet at a time.

I had the "no hot water " problem and it was the check valve coming out of the water heater....changed that out and presto...all was well. I recall thinking that the price of the valve was high but can't recall how much!
