I went dry camping this weekend and NEEDED a cup of coffee before generator time! Dummy me plugged my coffeemaker into the inverter outlet and heard a pop. Now I dont have any power to those outlets even when plugged into shore power. Anyone else experienced this? I'm still a newbie and need help! Thanks
Randy

Assuming you're currently on shore power.....In your main panel there should be a breaker that supplies shore power to the inverter. Turn it all the way off then back on again. Then after that exercise you should have AC power to the inverter.....and passing through the inverter to receptacles.
A lot of inverters have little push buttons for circuit breakers on them. Have you found them and tried to reset them?

After all the above if still no inverter check to see if there is AC power (if on shore power) into the inverter.

There may be some "hidden" breakers on the inverter.. Now they will be easily seen if the inverter is mounted the right way but that is almost never the case.. The owner's manual for the inverter, which you can most likely download if you can not find it, should show you where to feel.

On many inverters the inverter is installed so it is easy to connect it.. and often the breakers are thus on the back end where you can not see them no matter how you bend and twist... but you can find them with fingers and you can reset them.

Now.. if the inverter is "Hard wired" (not a device where you plug directly into it) then we have a couple more things to check:

Next is the fact that if the inverter is an "After market add on" the breaker box for inverter powered outlets is often in a different location.. For example in my rig the main breaker box is in the hall.. the sub panel for the inverter loads is in the room behind the main breaker box (about 8 inches from my toes just now)

Finally.. When I put a heavy load on my inverter once and had symptoms a lot lie yours.. Turns out I had a bad connection in the junction box on the inverter... I bit of clean up, a new wire nut, and it was good as new.

This does not answer your question but a hint about you getting your coffee without electric power and only having an electric pot. Fill the basket of your pot with filter and grounds as always. Instead of pouring the water into the pot for it to heat, pour the water into a pan and heat it on the stove top with gas. Then pour the hot water into the filter at a rate that will not over flow and the coffee will be just the same!

Im on shore power, all GFCIs except the inverter GFCI are ok, there is power to the inverter but still cant reset GFCI on the inverter. I reset all 120 volt breakers, I only found one reset on the inverter and that seems ok. Even though Im on shore power shouldnt there be power to the TV and Sat box?

I tested the 12volt input and found no voltage. I then traced it back to the 12volt power control center and discovered a tripped reset breaker! All is well again! Thanks for the help and I will take Luckiest Dre's advice next time!!
