When I am hooked to a water line in an RV park I get a rumbling noise with the hot water system. I can hear it by the shower and toilet which is above the hot water tank in the basement. Have heard about a check valve and I believe there is one on the back of the hot water tank.

Would that be making the noise?

i would say it is worth the time to check it!

do you hear it when you cap off your hookup and turn on your onboard pump?

if not, then i would think about maybe also replacing your water pressure regulator on your incoming line from the RV waterline

It is just when I use the water line. Can not check the pump because the fresh water tank will not hold water, new project for when I have time, the pump is new.

well thats a poo...

try check valve and then water regulator at city water hookup, either regulator is going bad and "kicking" water through your system, or your check valve is throwing a fit...

I figure once I get home to replace the check valve on the hot water tank, easy to get to when I empty out the basement. Had fun replaceing springs on one side in the KOA W. Yellowstone, will replace the other two also when I get home. This RVing is a lot like work.
