Noisy Water Pump

I don't know if we're in quieter areas or my hearing has improved, but our water pump seems to have become more noisy than usual. I've checked the pump base, cleaned the filter screen and even checked the amperage it pulls while operating. The rubber isolator pad under the pump seems to be in good shape, the filter screen wasn't "too" dirty and the amperage was a tad lower than the nameplate listed.
If anyone has had a similar issue please let us know what you found.
Thanks

Chris, Is there an accumulator tank downstream of your pump? It is usually (but not always) a round blue container the the water flows to.

You can add to the rubber pad, install an accumulator tank (if you have one, make sure there is still air above the rubber bladder to even out the water pressure) install flexible hose to and from the pump, perhaps adding a loop to isolate the vibration or sound.

Thanks Guys,
There doesn't seem to be an accumulator tank. The pump is connected with some type of hose on each side; I "assume" for vibration isolation {good thing I looked closer, there's a bubble on the discharge hose!}
The rubber piece the pump sets on is molded to fit the base & pump motor and the pump isn't bolted down to the base. I may asked Winnebago to see if there is an accumulator or expansion tank somewhere. The way the piping is manifolded right after the pump it doesn't seem probable. Adding one would require quite a bit of re-work with all the manifold fittings so close, but it was noisy before and now even more so and that may worth the effort.
Thanks for the advice!

The later variable speed pumps, ShurFlo, AquaJet, etc, which you probably have, advertise that an accumulator is not necessary and some suggest when changing to their product to remove the accumulator tank if you have one. ps, don't shoot the messenger. If it's a ShurFlo variable, Extreme Series, start there. good luck.

it's only been there a year, but we have a shurflo extreme which I put in. it is virtually silent, and provides better water pressure and flow than nearly all campgrounds we've been to.

Jim, Yep I know. Their good when they work, been thru three of them. Shurflo discontined them a year or two back but their new Revouution series seems to be doing really well.

Hey Jim & Freshair Pat,
I do have the Shurflo pump and it is still noisy. Contacted them and Winnebago to see if I really need to upgrade or if there's a fix.
I let you all know what I find and do.
You folks here are truly the greatest!

when I put my extreme pump in (replacing a standard shurflo pump...) I used shurflo's noise isolator kit, which is a couple of flexible hoses. the new pump was way bigger than the original, and wouldn't fit in the original space, so I uses some drywall screws to attach a piece of treated 2x6 to the floor of the bay, and screwed the pump rubber mounts to that.

After the first year, I love this pump. I often turn it on while showering even when hooked to campground water, cause this beast has some serious pressure. and truly it is quiet.
