I have a 34N Pace Arrow 1999, I was wondering if it's really required to have a dual power system (Gas and Elect)?
We don't boondock and only stay at parks that have full hook-ups, the time we travel is only 4 to 5 hours.
Can I trade out the refer. with an all elect. household unit?? as long as the opening and closing of the unit is kept to a minn. during travel?
The door on the current unit is warped enough to allow frost to form in the freezer and the ice maker has blowen the water supply line-which in order to replace the hose requires two good men and a case of beer, because the box has to be removed.
Any ideas??

Many folks have done just that. In fact when the fridge went out in my '88 Superchief I replaced it with a small dorm sized unit(110v only). Capped off the gas line and the 12v power supply. It would keep things cold without power for quite a while. And you can always run the gen for longer trips which would also allow you to run the coach AC on those hot travel days when the dash AC is just not enough.
