Norcold 10.0 ref defrost too long

We have owned this 2010 Winnabago Seighteer 31E for almost a year and the last outing the ref could not freeze ice cream and the inside temp went up to 45 degrees. so went I got home I did testing and come to find out from 6am to about 4 or 5pm the ref is about 33 to 34 degrees and freezer os about 2 to 5 degrees. But then it seems to go to some kind of defrost and goes off I think for 2 hours or so and by the next morning we are back at 32 to 33 degrees in the ref. The Winnebago manual says the temp control sys automatically melts most of the frost from the cooling fins. Well it must be doing that. Does anyone have any idea what temp control sys is ? or how does it control the frost on the cooling fins? Any help would be appreciated. John

Yes, the Norcold 1200 has an automatic defrost cycle, I can't remember if it's every 40 or 48 hours. You can stop it from doing that by turning it off momentarily once a day.

I use the ARP protection device and it has a program to defeat the defrost cycle!

Thanks for your imput on the Norcold ref. The ref I have is a 10.0 Norcold Model N1095 and it has some kind of defrost like yours. We had a Endeavor Diesel and it did have the 1200 ref but we never noticed a defrost and that was a good thing, Now this one we have owned for about a year and just noticed it for the first time, Thanks again for your help.
