Norcold 1200

My refer has quit working. I have always used it on ac power. The heating element still gets hot but no cooling...I did not smell the rotten egg that I smelled when my other mh refer went out...So I guess my question is as long as you have the correct heating, should it work? Also it doesn't show any error code..

This is what your electric htr rods look like but not sure that's your problem. Has it been performing good up until now?

Norcold 1200 uses TWO 225W AC Heaters
BOTH have to function in order to cool fridge

Together they draw 4.2A and should measure 64 ohms each (at ambient temp)

Norcold 1200 should have TWO ventilation fans (outside compartment above absorber tubing ---slanted tubes) that turn on when 'condenser fin' temp reaches 130*F and turn off when fin temp reaches 115*F

Only one AC Heater working OR no fans......cooling unit doesn't cool down

norcold 1200

I checked the heating elements and they appear to be ok...I fired up the lp gas part and it got hot enough to kick off the cooling fans but still no cooling. I've heard about this units stopping up...is there any way of checking a blockage..tnks

Is the freezer element getting cold? It should become colder quicker than the refer area.

some times it seems like it gets colder inside the freezer compartment right below the doors but not on the back wall where I figured it would get cold first...

check below the burner at the back from access door... is there residue wet and yellowish? if yes, your cooling unit is done.

Are you giving it 24 hours to get down to temp?

I know it takes a long time to get to the right temp but I think that I should be able to tell if it is getting cold within a couple hours, correct..I have not been able to find any sign of a leak in the unit..The best I can tell is the elements are heating up really well but still doesn't cool down..I have about decided that it is a blockage in the system. I was told in the older norcold units that sometimes if they had a blockage you could turn the refrig upside down for a day or two and that would fix a blockage...My unit supposedly won't do that...

Our 1200 acted the same way...yes, the cooling solution will develop crystals that will build up at a narrow point and stop the flow(per our repairman). repair was a new cooling unit. He claimed this can be caused by operating when not level.
