Norcold 1200 Amish Cooling Unit Install

Complete this task last Saturday. Took about 6-8 hours, generally by myself, and unit works great. Freezer is 1 degree and frig is 23 degrees when set to "9" (max cooling setting). This being the case, I will dial the setting back to about 5 and see where she settles in.

Great fix and so happy to not have to worry about a fire!

Congratulations on a much needed fix. I did the same change out on our Itasca and it was one of the best mods I made.

I was looking on their site yesterday and didn't see any prices, I've emailed them to ask. But in the meantime, how much does that unit cost? Did you go for the HVAC option? - which as I understand it basically turns the fridge into a residential type.

Congrats on the install! If you don't already have one, I highly recommend the installation of an ARP Fridge Defend unit!

I installed the AARP 4.1 on my Amish unit I installed in October. I think I posted somewhere, that for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to program the AARP to my refer. The instructions on the website are extremely convoluted and contradictory. I consider myself savvy in figuring things out, but an engineer I am not and these instructions are written by an engineer and don't seem to be compatible with an average mind. I called and asked if we could set up a telecon to have him "walk" me through the process while I am standing in front of it. I'm sure it wouldn't take long at all once I was told exactly what sequence of buttons to push and when. He said he was in a low cell reception zone and it would be difficult to talk.

Since then, I had to replace the power board and the optical display(come as a kit Norcold #633299). All is working well now, but I have not reinstalled the AARP yet, just didn't have the time on the road and we just returned, been gone since Jan.

I did get a msg on the IRV app that one gentleman said I could PM him and he would walk me thru the process. I haven't had the time to look him up on the forum yet, but I think I will follow up with him once I get it reinstalled.

Paul at ARP is very good at walking you through any difficulties you may have with the installation.
