The thermister is on the 4th fin from the right and the first 10 fins from the right frost up pretty good. The 6-8 fins from the left side frost up a little less and all the fins inbetween hardly show any frost at all. Shouldn't all the fins show fairly much the same amount of frost on them or is this the normal?

The frig is normally running about 35-39 degrees (set on either 4 or 5) inside without any fans running but when I start the two fans that attach to the fins (one on about the 6th or 7th fin from the right and another about the same on the left) and the little square fan that runs on 2 D batteries setting on the bottom shelf the frig temp will run from 31-35.

Whether or not the fans are running, the right most fins will frost up the most with the left most just a little and hardly any frost showing on all the middle fins.

Shouldn't be complaining when i can get the temps down that low but just wondering if I should be worrying about anything?

It is not broken, so, don't fix it. This is pretty normal as to what I have seen. The reason the right side has more frost is due to the higher concentration of heat absorption as the evaporator makes a "U" turn at this end of the fins.

Our Norcold 1200 also ice up on the fins as you describe.

We bought a fridge fan at the big Quartzsite show with the purpose og getting a better temperature distribution inside the fridge (which it did), but it also seems that we get less ice on the fins. I seem to recall that we only paid $5 for that fan, so less than CW wants.

Maybe worth a try?

AS noted, it is normal to have the fins frosting. Your home frig fins frost as well. Just they are hidden and you never see them.

It is also indicative as to moisture being present. Perhaps reduce the level of wet produce ( dry of lettuce). Use more ziplocks....just thinking , cheers.

Every time you open the door, you let in some moisture. Also there is a certain minimal amount of leakage of air into any unit.

You need to be concerned if you do not see some frost forming on the fins.

Thanks for all the replys. I was just a little concerned if it was normal for the several fins on each end to have visible frost and the center fins to not be showing any frost.
