Norcold 1200 IM (Ice Maker)

I have a Norcold 1200 IM but I tried the ice maker and got nothing. I then put my hand in the tray to see if water was in there and found an oily substance in it. Not sure what it was or why it was there anyone know what it is or how I get it to work? I'm thinking it has never been used before me.

It might be residue from previous winterizing. Look in the outside refrigerator compartment for shut-off valves and see if you can get water flowing. The icemaker is not special to the RV fridge, but a common item found at most appliance parts stores. If yours doesn't work, it's not hard to replace. --If it has power. They are usually plugged into a separate outlet behind the fridge that is powered by an inverter so it continues to cycle while not on shore power. Test the outlet for power.
