Norcold 1200 LP Non-start
Whenever we're getting ready to leave on a trip, and change the mode of power from AC to LP, 9 times out of 10, the ref would not change and display a note of "No Fl.." which I interpret as no LP is flowing through.
Recall has been done, brought it twice to an RV shop to have them diagnose the problem, a circuit board was replaced, everything cleaned up and checked (at least that's what the shop said they did) but still it's doing the same thing.
Now what makes this perplexing is that this has never happened when we're at the campground and switching to LP from AC when we're ready to leave. Back home, it gets emptied out and then turned off. It only gets turned on again a few days before a trip when we start loading.
Anybody here have experience this or have any knowledge/hint/suggestion on why this is happening? We don't have any real Norcold service center here other than a few RV shops that sometimes is a hit or miss.

while stored,i turn gas off, when trying to start for the 1st time of the season, i turn on gas and light stove burners for a minute and then try lighting the fridge. it primes or purges the air out of the lines. still sometimes it will take several tries. even when there is gas in the line when u turn it off it leaks down or looses pressure after sitting ? anyway thats the way i light mine

genesimmons, I also do almost the same thing but I use the heater. Turn it on and let it run for a few minutes and then switch the fridge to LP. Sometimes it work, sometimes it don't. So what I do if it don't work, I leave it off and then drive on. Almost always while on the road, DW would turn it on on LP and it would work. So, fortunately we've never driven with the fridge not working.

maybe you didn't purge the air out long enough. try running the stove next time and see. i have too try mine about three times, but be sure to turn off the fridge in between lighting attempts.

Why not leave it on AUTO function and control broad will do all the switching for you.
Auto will switch form electric to LP gas or vise verser.
If you turn off your LP tank valve when non use make sure you turn on LP valve before turning on fridge or gas operation on start up will suck all gas out of gas pipe.

Isn't that a Flame warning as in no flame. Could be the igniter tip is not sensing the change in resistance when a flame is present which could indicate the igniter needs replacing. Sometimes a bad ground on the 12 volt system, a failing coverter/charger or weak house batteries will cause this to occur.

NeilV: you know, this might be something worth checking. Never thought that a "NO FL" might also mean "No Flame" so I'll check it out. Anyway, never have those problems (ie: bad ground, failing converter, etc) occured so not sure. But thanks anyway for giving me another option to look at.
