I have a Norcold 1200lrim four door refrigerator. When the electric element was replaced some of the insulation around the tube fell apart. For now I have fiberglass insulation in place. I have not been able to get any proper insulation from Norcold or any dealers. They just throw their hands up in the air. Norcold tells me no one else has ever had a problem. Now that cannot be true as you have to remove the insulation to replace the heater. I know this can be a fire hazard but I get nowhere with Norcold. Any ideas out there? The insulation is a yellow "packed" kind looks like it is compacted or pressed in a sheet.

I have the same refer as you, checked Norcold site they show burner assembly but no fiber glass wrap part #, it fact no wrap part discription for any refer's. If you use fiber glass make sure its flame retardent. A pellet or gas stove dealer may have the type of wrap needed to be on the safe side, I have used it on fire place insert panels to cut down cold drafts. Also on your information sheets for refer there maybe a number to call for this info. --"007"

Yeah I just got through to a supervisor in Customer service. She stated that the insulation is hard to come by and they have a piece and offered it to me. I works when you get to the right people. Thanks for the reply.
