My 12 year old Norcold 1200 LRIM stopped cooling in August 2014. This is the 4 door model and have had 3 recalls. I ordered the Amish replacement and wife and I installed it. We were in Brookings OR RV park for a month. We were not prepared for this. Built a platform and slid the Norcold out (inside) onto platform. The You tube videos gave me confidence, we had no problems with change over. I am very happy with new unit. We have hard ice cream for first time ever!

Congratulations! What was your comfort level going into the project? I have the same refrig and want to prepare for when the replacement becomes necessary.

Any particular youtube videos you'd recommend?

Congratulations on your changeover. I did the same thing year before last and have loved the Amish unit. You might also look at the Fridge Fix fan system for the interior if you have a frost build up problem on the fins. It keeps a steam of air moving across the fins constantly and also helps maintain even cooling in the fridge part.

. We did not lay ours down. We bolted new unit on while in up right position. I did do some reinforcing of lower cabinet. Took out racks and sanded and painted them with appliance paint-they look brand new.
