We have a Norcold 682 fridge.i have recently replaced the burner tube and 110 heating element. The burner tube was badly corroded so that instead of 5 small slots it was mostly just one hole and full of rust. The 110 heating element was shorted when power was applied and would blow the 5a fuse although the ohm reading was right at spec (40ohms). It is all working now and cooling very good!
My question is to control the level of cooling is the propane valve switched on and off or should the flame run continuously, ican hear the flame and every time i go out there it is running even though the temp in the back of the freezer is at -8*.Next question,is it normal to be able to hear the flame from a couple of feet away? (DW has good hearing)
TIA Don

I think mine used to cycle the burner on and off as needed. But, I converted to a residential (120 volt) fridge last year so I might be wrong. I do know I could hear the burner when outside right next to it. But no way I could hear the burner from inside the coach. And the burner was very quiet. Not nearly as loud as the burner on my water heater.
