Norcold fridge won't run on 120v, runs fine on gas.

I have a 2014 Vista 30T which we love. The Norcold fridge works fine and is cold on gas, but won't run on 120v when plugged in. Have checked there is 120v at the fridges plug.
Fridge model is N611.

This forum has helped me fix all the minor issues my coach has had, let's see how we go on this one!

Thanks,

Pete

Have you checked the fuse inside the refrigerator control box?

Our fridge, a Norcold 1200LRIM, presented the same sympton last year. It worked fine on propane but simply would not run on 120v AC.

The MODE display panel showed a NO AC fault code. This code is shown in the manual and its troubleshooting guide suggests a blown fuse or defective fuse holder. The fuse is found on a circuit board located on the back of the fridge, hidden behind a black plastic cover that was difficult to remove due to it tight space and adjacent parts and wiring.

I was able to get the cover off and the fuse checked out as okay but still no power. As our fridge is covered under our extended warranty I left it run on propane until we visited our dealer. It turned out to be a burnt out relay on the above mentioned circuit board. The relay shorted out and burnt a hole clear through the circuit board. Due to a change in Norcold systems, they had to replace both the circuit board and the control panel on the front of the fridge. The parts came to a little over $350 (Canadian).

Ron, did you have to pay for the parts?

Well found the 120v fuse blown and changed it. Then the fridge started displaying a code, suggesting faulty AC heater or faulty board. Checked the heater element, found it open circuited. With some difficulty I got the old element out and purchased a new one for about $35. Next stage it to fit it and see what happens. Waiting for the rain to stop, but at least we are progressing!

Fitted the new AC heater and the fridge seems to be fixed, and running on 120v again. Thanks for everyone's help.

No. Our extended warranty covered the cost of both parts and labor so all I had to pay was our deductible. We this and a Hydro-Hot repair done that were both covered under the warranty so we had only one deductible charge of $50 which was great as the Hydro-Hot part was over $1300 and then there was all the labor the warranty paid for as well.
