Has anyone had their ref go on and off while running on elect? Ours does this and does not click on to LP. It is a norcold brand ref.
Runs fine on LP if set manually. Please help, thanks, Don

Remove the electric element leads off the control board and clean with contact spray cleaner. Clean the prongs on control board also.
Make sure you have a good 12V to control board and its leads are clean connections also.
With the face control board set to AUTO should switch between LP or AC.
If AC now works remove AC plug for fridge and see if fridge switch's to LP operation.
If not you may need a new control board.

Sounds like you may have an open ground on the circuit and the light over the dinette is on the same circuit and completing a path to ground for the refrigerator. Add a temporary new ground to the refrigerator circuit and retry by turning the dinette light off. If this cures the problem, make the ground permanent.

Agree with Mike, circuit should have been on its own 12V power leads not tied into another.

Thanks guys for your input. I had the latest and greatest norcold recall done today. The frig still shuts off with the light switch so I am going to disconnect the d@%$ thing for now. It will work off of propane now. The tech at camping world said it would take at least an hour to trouble shoot the elec problem so I will check it out myself and hopefully find out about the ground or get 12 volts from another source. Thanks for the help guys, hope to meet you on the road sometime. Don

It will only take a few minutes to add a good ground and then you can test it before making it permanent. The recall has nothing to do with this issue if it was going on before the recall kit was installed. I hope when you stated that you were going to disconnect it; that you did not mean the recall kit. It was installed for your safety and should never be by-passed. Good luck and keep us posted.

I meant that I was going to disconnect the wires to the light for now until I can look into the problem in a more permanent way. Thanks for the help and advice guys will post again when I get the problem repaired.
