Norcold Help - No Covered Before

Last night when I did a reset of the circuit board the unit kicked back on and we are again working after getting the no co code.

In the process of removing the circuit board cover, the spark igniter terminal spade connector was extremely tough to remove. I worked on it for minutes until I finally got the wire/connector loose. In the process of doing so, the black spark/ sense module/ terminal broke off one on the 'prongs' in the circuit board. I have been able to light the pilot and it burns fine and then a relay shuts it off. I suspect that with the spark sense module missing, the board is shutting the pilot off.

Questions:
1) Can I just order the module and place it back in the board?
(Please see pictures of it) Part number - 982-810010-4. And DST2010-002B
2) Will I have to order a new board to fix this problem?
3) Is there a bypass/jumper/workaround to my problem? I have no problem manually lighting pilot.

My 4 door Norcold is a 1200 LRIM and it has gad the recall
Serial number is 1247178
Board model? Number: 0343621271. Bottom RH corner
0332K upper RH corner
P8436040. Lower LH corner

My sense of urgency here is that we are stuck in Hurricane, UT just north of the Grand Canyon and will need to boondock on BLM land.

Many thanks for your help,

You need a new control board.

I would suggest investing in a Dinosaur replacement instead of buying another Norcold board. The Dinosaur boards are better built with better software on them.

Personally if mine I would replace the entire circuit board. Also hate to say it, but it's just a matter of time your entire cooling unit will need replacing.

Our 1200 lasted for 12 years, had all recalls done on it but finally had to replace the cooling unit with one of those Amish built units in August of 2012.

Wishing you the best of luck and safe travels....

I would recommend that you replace the module and replace it with a re-setable one , that is the OEM replacement for your unit.

I would not jump it out to operate you could have an over temp problem in tube flue .

Another option is dry ice in your refer it will last for several days until you can get a module while boondockng .

Good luck,

James

The reason it cuts out is that the flame sensor is actually the spark terminals. The board applies a voltage to the spark prongs and checks the current. A flame will allow a current to flow, no flame-no current.
