NORCOLD Model N8411 only flashes....

My Norcold Model N8411 only flashes AU-AC-LP on the door display. It will not let me select any of the modes. I have tried resetting the board according to internet instructions. I am not sure if I did it correctly or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and . We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
Here is a link iRV2 Forums - Files - Norcold N61xx and N81xx Service Manual to the service manual for your model refrigerator. Make certain that all electrical connections are clean and tight. Hopefully, you will be able to diagnose as to it being either a loose connection or a simple fix.

Thanks for the manual. I will try resetting the board again when I get back to where I keep the RV for football season next weekend. I do not have any of the codes showing that are represented in the manual and still have been unable to find any examples of what mine is flashing. Thanks once again.

Welcome to irv2.
Your control board is looking for AC supply or LP supply you need a good 12v for all to functions as said make sure you clean all terminal connections on spade clips and spades on control board, reseting may not help you until all connections checked.
The AC cord for fridge needs to be plugged in not just the ice maker, two different cords.

Thanks I will double check the connections as well. I unplugged all last weekend and replugged and had all power cords connected. I can hear a "clicking sound" soon after pressing the "on" button for frig. LP tank is full.

If you set and hold the mode button do the AC & LP MODES display as described on page's 53 & 54?
What happens when you release the MODE button?
Looking at pdf you have separate control boards for different mode control with interconnecting cords may want to reset in plug connections..
Pages 9---17 in PFD quick trouble section with references to troubles.

When I press the mode button it will not lock down or select any of the modes, it just keeps flashing thru all the modes, AU-AC-LP. I am able to get into the diagnostic mode by holding both the temp and mode buttons down.

I do not believe the MODE button is not a locking button only a selector button.
You press and release on desired selection.

Correct, sorry for the confusion there. I meant to say when mode button is pressed, neither the AC or LP will show up in the window. It just continues to cycle thru the 3 options as mentioned earlier.

One thing you want to be sure of is that you have a source of good clean DC voltage. If you suspect or measure ripple in the DC power feeding the refrigerator, you may want to try a freed standing battery for a power supply and retry refrigerator.

Hopefully not sounding too dumb, but where is best place to read the DC voltage powering the refrigerator?

You should be able to remove the outside service/vent door and find the 12 vdc circuit feeding the refrigerator control board. This is a convenient place to not only check circuit voltage but while it is under load as well.

Problem fixed...........I turned on refrigerator this past friday when getting in RV hoping the problem would have fixed itself. Well of course it didn't, so out of frustration I hit the front of the frig next to control panel and bingo problem solved. Must have been a loose or stuck something in there. It worked all weekend cycling from AC-LP automatically. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

Now, you will know where to start the next time it acts up. You may want to pull the control panel and clean up the connections or at least take some contact cleaner with you. Thanks for the update.
