Hi folks,

First time caller

I have a 2006 Monaco Monarch with a Norcold issue. When we got the MH two years ago and went on our first adventure we heard a beep beep sound emulating from the Norcold. Read the manuals but still could not gt it to shut up so brought it into a dealership. We were told that it was a circuit board so we had it replaced at the dealership. Picked MH up and drove home 45 miles. Went out the following weekend and guess what !!!! We heard a beep beep sound emulating from the Norcold....grrrrrr. Brought it back to the dealership and they replaced the circuit board and said it was a defective board. Now we ONLY use the MH once a year for a trip out west for two weeks. Did our yearly trip and all seemed well. Winter arrived and of course yours truly forgot to winterize.......we now have a water leak directly behind the hot water heater, all of the batteries have discharged and will not take a charge and we heard a beep beep sound emulating from the Norcold

Called the dealership and will be bringing it in to replace whatever water lines i have broken. Will purchase new batteries, even though the others are only 1 year old, however the dealership are refusing to replace the Board under any type of warranty. Has anyone had this problem with the circuit board failure and if so what is the remedy ?

Thanks in advance

Try this before you give the "stealer" any more money.

The "No Co" just means it is not firing on propane. The beep is to alert you(I'm lucky, I can't hear it unless right next to it but drives wife nuts).

The simple workaround it to start your generator, fridge will switch to electric.

Bigger issue is why? On mine I had 2 issues, I evidently had some air in my propane line, as both water heater and fridge wouldn't work on LP. Had a bad thermocouple on WH, fixed that and fired up WH, which then cured the fridge. Guess the fridge couldn't move enough LP to get air out by itself.

You can download a copy of the Norcold "Service Manual" for your make & model at this website. It can provide you with lots of information that you otherwise have to pay a stealer for.

Norcold refrigerators - download Norcold manuals

As opposed to paying for another stock circuit board from Norcold, you can purchase a new "Dinosaur" circuit board with a 3 year warranty for your make & model with a "No Co" reset button on it instead of making a jumper and trying to ground the "correct" connector pin.
I did with the Ignitor board my Suburban propane water heater & the control board for my Norcold 1200 and have been very satisfied.

If your batteries are not charged the Norcold will show a no-co. The reset is easy, just a pin since you have to work through the vent on the side of the coach. If you decide to reset it yourself then once you have the board cover off, locate the area that covers the reset pin and drill and appropriate size hole in the cover. Place duct tape or similar over that hole when finished resetting to prevent dust from getting into the area. The next time you need to reset, just uncover the hole, put in the jumper and ground it according to directions. Simple and effective.

If you are going to all that trouble, why not install a momentary on button from radio shack solder the wires and have a permanent reset button?

Yeah, considered that too but deicded that the hole was good enough. Didn't want any more gadgets to worry about.

Has anyone thought to find the problem rather than just through parts at the symptom? There is a reason for the unit to time out and not see that the temperature of the evaporator is not dropping. Check the venting, I have found pieces of insulation fallen on top of the condenser and causing the unit to time out. Good luck and keep us posted.
