I have an interesting "pop" coming from the burner. It's not a backfire in the sense, it just seems to occasionally "pop" as if you were to blow on the flame and it "pops" back. Everything is clean it seems and the flame is a nice pretty blue and it's lined up in the flue. it does not appear to do this when the guard is open, nor have I ever seen this happen.
Any ideas on this?

Sounds like your not getting enough air for gas flame. On the gas tube there is a slide adjustment for air supply loosen screw and move to open a bit.
Make sure the tube is clean of cob webs or mud dabbers.

When you say everything is clean, have you actually cleaned the igniter electrode and other burner components? Have you cleaned the flue? Have you checked the LP gas working pressure feeding the refrigerator gas valve? Let us know so we can be more helpful.

I had the exact same issue and cleaned everything that has been mentioned, including the actual burner. I had to replace the burner to fix the issue. Look at this thread:
Refridge popping while running

I had the same problem and tried all the fixes mentioned but replacing the burner solved the problem. Look at the top of the burner and you will probably see it is a little distorted and burned.

Just received a new Burner/Orifice Assembly because I had the same problem. Fixed it as soon as it was installed.
What's I believe was occuring was that upon pulling the old burner assembly, I found a "chuck of rusty metal" about .150" square that was banging around in the burner, getting very hot and igniting the propane in the burner tube causing the "popping" noise.
If you had smaller pieces, they would eventually be exhausted out the burner tube or fresh air orifice causing it to quiet down.
The about folks are correct that the new burner assembly should make you life quieter and more efficient with no "popping".
See You Out There !

Everything was brushed and blown out recently and there was a lot of crud that fell from the burner flue, so what Freebyrd describes is quite possible as there is no damage that I can see. As long as it runs out here in Q, I'll leave it, but will take it all apart upon return. Thanks all!

Better late than never...
Camping at the beach all year its noisy enough to mask the problem. But I brought the coach home to pack for Quartzsite, and the backfiring is there clear as a bell along with a 'whistle', like the LP trying to ignite at the orifice and being starved for air.
I took the thing completely out and cleaned it as good as I could with air and a wire brush. I was able to get the yellow flame tip gone, but the backfiring was still there... So off to the store for a new burner and problem solved.
In my case I think what may have been in there was salt crystals (from the sea air) super heating and pre-igniting the gas in the burner. Oh well, now ready to head out on Friday
