Hi, I had the recall done and now the burner is turning off and on. Turns off for a split second and then relights. Acts and sounds as if there is a strong wind blowing across the burner. It now takes 24 hours to cool down and it used to take 8. I lit the stove, water heater and furnace to purge the gas line to no avail. I am thinking its the new heat sensor on the draft tube but I am only guessing. Anybody have this problem? I had the refridge serviced when they did the recall. Dealer said its OK to use till I get it in the shop next Friday.

Make sure something like a flake of rust did not fall onto the burner from the chimney.

Also make sure a spider hasn't built a nest in the burner tube. Small critters can get in through the air intake in the tube. Their presence will disturb the LP/air mix and the burner will act the same way it does in a strong wind.

I think RV wizzard is on to something. When mine was done, all kinds of rust fell on the burner from the chimney. Cleaned it with a shop vac.

FWIW, I had issues with my norcold and it was diagnosed as rust. I had already run a swab through the exhaust tube and it came out clear. The shop claimed they had taken a steel rod and hit it it while the end was against the tube and lots of rust came out?? At any rate, the flame would "gutter" as if there was a wind blowing on it. I replaced the burner unit and that cured the issue. I had removed and cleaned the original unit using alcohol and wire brush, etc, but that didn't help.

As it turned out I did not have to go to the dealer. When we returned home, it was operating normally. Guess the 500 mile trip blew the problem out. Thanks for your replies.

When you do your spring cleaning place a paper towel over burner tube slots and gently tap burner chimney rust will fall down on to paper.
Than vac all the rust out and you may even get some out of burner tube thats now resting in there.
