Norcold recall failure

So the little black box my dealer installed did its job and shut my fridge down. How to I wire around it to get my fridge to run until I can get it repaired?

Try a magnet on the black box , it may reset it. Or wire around it. Good luck

Magnet didn't work. Wired the hots together. Since the black box failed will nor cold cover the repair and supply a new box?

They were doing that early on in the recall as there were hundreds of failures and defective boxes. However, they are no longer replacing them.

You can try, it only takes a phone call.

Norcold has taken the low road on their problem therefore they are not offering any help verbally or otherwise.

I no longer own the NotSoCold 1200 nor will I ever own another Thetford or Norcold product.

I have watched friends reset theirs with a very strong magnet. I chose a better path, pulled my still working Nocold out, and installed a Samsung res fridge. No more worries.

That can be dangerous. Have you checked the cooling unit for signs of ammonia leakage ?

I'm very aware of the potential dangers and will keep a close eye on it until I can get it checked out. I read another thread where the poster thought the box failed after getting wet during a severe storm. Mine went out after a visit to a Blue Beacon Truck wash. My hope is the failure is a symptom of some misplaced water from the pressure washer.

Getting the box wet is what cause your problem, use a hair dryer to dry out and reset with strong magnet as posted in this link.
Take note of warning for people not in the know.

In another thread, where I found the link provided above, the OP stated his box went off after he washed his coach and "may" have squirted some water thru the refer vents. He was able to reset the box using a strong magnet...it took a few minutes, but it restarted the frig.
