Norcold refriegrator tripping GFCI plug
Hello
We have a 2000 Holiday Rambler with a norcold fridge. We have a gfci outlet that keeps tripping and we narrowed it down to having the fridge plugged in to the outlet in the back of the fridge area. It also controls several out lets. Even when running the fridge on propane only with the fridge plugged in it trips if unplugged it dose not trip. Any direction on finding the problem would be great .

Sounds like you have a short in the heating element.

If you have a ice maker unplug it . The plug is outside take vent cover off to see it

Are you referring to a GFCI outlet in the coach or for shore power?
Last year we had a similar problem. Our coach was stored inside and we had a 20A outlet we could use to keep the batteries charged and the refer running. When we would plug in the coach to shore and then start the Norcold it would trip the shore power GFCI. If we unplugged the ice maker the GFCI did NOT pop. We never solved that problem until I replaced the Norcold with a Samsung. 
If you have a GFCI in the coach popping, I don't have any suggestions on that which might be of more help. If we hadn't planned the refer replacement I would have considered replacing the ice maker.

If you are tripping the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter portion of the breaker you have current leakage to ground; probably ref. or ice maker heating element filament making contact with its case. Not enough of a short to trip the amperage rating of a circuit breaker but it will trip a GFCI. Unplug the ref and ice maker if need be and operate on gas mode. This will allow you to keep ref. and other GFCI protected circuits going until you can get it repaired. Good luck and keep us posted.

Same situation with my Norcold. GFI trip when starting fridge.
The coach neutral was found to be disconnected. Mine was a broken neutral behind the 120VAC breaker over the bed. Manufacturer had stretched the wiring too tight.

I would start with checking all the wiring behind the outside cover, you would be suprized where a mouse can get into and look for any exposed wiring. the slightest short will trip the GFCI.

A couple of years ago we had the same symptoms. Our problem was the ice maker had shorted to ground. No problems after replacing the ice maker.
