Norcold Refrigerator Auto Gas Shutoff Safety Feature

I purchased a used 2015 Winnebago View motor home with a Norcold 3150 refrigerator/freezer in it. I noticed that the LP gas burner shuts off when I turn the chassis ignition switch off. This happens both when the unit is in Auto mode or manual LP gas mode. I was told by a local RV repair shop that this is a built-in safety feature to prevent the chance of open flame operation at gasoline stations. Also, that the unit controller will automatically reignite the LP gas flame after a 20-minute delay following chassis ignition shut-off. Has anyone heard of this safety feature? I cannot find anything about it either in the 2012 Norcold 3150 manual or the newest manual for this refrigerator. Thanks.

YES...have seen that control scheme before.
Not on the Smaller fridges

But very possible wiring thru ignition switch on MHs

Dometic does it also
The AES has a built-in safety device that delays gas ignition and start up approximately20 minutes from 12 volt operation. This enables the customer to stop and refuel the vehicle without touching the refrigerator. If the delay is not desired after stopping, the system may be re-set by switching the main switch off and then back on.

Thanks for the quick reply and information, Old-Biscuit. Indeed, I picked up my RV from the repair shop this morning and checked the auto 20 minute gas shutoff/restart safety feature. The gas flame stopped immediately after shutting off the vehicle engine and restarted automatically after 18 minutes 51 seconds. Interestingly, the authorized Norcold repair service center didn't know about this feature until they inquired with Norcold regarding my question. Thanks again.
