I recently had the recall performed on my 1201LRIM Norcold 4 door. SInce the recall work was done, the refrigerator section of the unit is not cooling correctly. Is there anything about the thermostat of the recall work that would cause this condition or is it just coincidence? i know the sensor is supposed to shut down the unit if it overheats but is that an "all or nothing" shutdown?

also, if i have never had any problems with my refrigerator before (it's a 2006 model) is there any reason not to undo what was done on the recall.

need to find a solution if possible, leaving mid week on two week colorado trip with no time to have serviced or replaced.

any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

Welcome rhoop98 to irv2.
You may want to listen for the two or three fans you have right now at the top of your cooling coils.
On a warm day you should hear they sucking air up from your bottom vent and blowing the heated air out your top vent.
The recall should not have caused a problem with them unless dealer disconnected wiring back to control board.
The fans are controled by a heat thermister mounted on top coils.
Here are some threads and links within them discussing about the 1200 and cooling.

thank you very much for the info, I will access the vent from top tomorrow and see what there is to see. Very warm today but did not hear the sounds of any fans.

If the recall sensor trips, is definitely a total shutdown. It shuts down ALL 12V power to the control board. The display lights on the control panel inside the RV will not even be on. The only thing that will be lit is the red light on the switch.

If the fridge is partially cooling, that means the recall sensor has not tripped. The problem could very well be the fans as 007 suggests, especially if ambient temperature is high. Maybe the technician removed and forgot to plug back in the wires for the fans or accidentally pulled a wire loose. The plug for the fans is located on the circuit board near where the 12V connector for the recall switch plugs in.
