Check the temp sensor which is located on the cooling fins inside of the fridge compartment on the back wall. It should be on the second fin from the right and placed about 1/3 of the way down. This can come dislodged. Adjust by moving it up or downthis affect the cooling. I'm not sure which way does which.

thanks jim. thats where its at. also, the freezer is at 10* below 0. they say moving it up will make it warmer but there's not much room left.

If up is not enough move it to the left fin next, start in the middle of it. I think I have the direction correct to make the thermistor see colder fins thus cause the refer to warm.
If anyone can correct me, I think the the cold comes from the upper/left (the coldest part) thus making the lower/right the warmest part of the fins.
Sounds like it might need replacement, there is an ohm table (Google should find it) that you can check it out from - I don't recall where I've seen them.

If moving the thermistor doesn't fix it, I'd say it is time to replace the thermistor.

My 2004 Norcold 4-dr side-by-side fridg will be down in the 30's when set on 2 or 3 and the box is empty. By the time I get it full I have to raise the setting around 6 or 7 to keep the inside of the box around 32-34.

You should load refridge before any adjustment than adjust if you have to, therm will be near 1" & 1/2" from top of fin.

Also be sure to fill it with cold products, not warm and do not overload.

cannon man---
Your readings look perfectly normal to me.
Box should be 32-- 38 degrees. Freezer 0 to minus 10. I don't think changing the setting numbers will change anything significantly.
