Onan 5500 cuts off

Onan 5500 generator on 2002 R-vision class A will run 15 to 20 min going down the road then cuts off. Will restart after 15 min then cut off again. Will run at house for almost an hour without stopping. Gas pumps good to carb, fuel line and filter changed, carb cleaned. Saw a post that oil should be just above add mark would solve problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

After it shuts off verify that the float bowl has fuel in it, most models have a screw that can be opened to verify.

When mine did that I found that the fuel pump was intermittent. Hit the prime button on the generator after it shuts down and see if you can hear the pump running.

Very aggravating. I think it has got to be something simple.

Make sure oil is topped off and you have good gas (not too old). They are very sensitive to oil levels. Fuel pumps are also a known problem.
