Onan 5500 - found water in oil. How??

Wondering if anyone has ever found water in the oil of an Onan 5500 gen set. We have to store it away from home and with major snow here in Virginia we have not been able to get to it for 2.5 months. On checking the oil yesterday, March 07, found water in the oil. You know, the white/yellow mix look. It is in a Class A Gulf Stream Sun Voyager. Between the gen cover, the chassis compartment and an RV cover, I cannot figure out how water could have gotten in the crankcase. It started ok but I didn't run it but a few minutes. I know it was bad to run it a minute, but its also bad not to run it and I can't change the oil for another month due to access.

All you folks with your units are home are lucky.

Just a water mystery.

The hot and cold conditions after use may cause condensation on metal parts which drop into oil.
If you change oil and filter should clear it up, my 55 Gen sets all winter never notice water in oil maybe because I do change every spring and have had no problems with use.

Thanks. Condensation makes sense as it was so well protected. The only other possibility I came up with were high winds and 48" of snow in a week, but again it was under cover.

Just bought last fall, haven't done first oil change but will soon.
