We have an EC-30 installed in our coach. I recently replaced our house batteries with AGM's. Today was the first time I have tested the EC-30 with the new batteries and noticed it shut the generator off when only 2 bars were displayed. The operator manual discusses different battery types, but I don't see any menu option to select battery type.

Is this normal, or do I need to change a setting. I have 2 CB27-AGM

Within this Manual I did not see anything relating to battery type also. You should check your Gen Manual to see if the Gen has a adjustment for different type batteries.
Your control can adjust high and low charge rates for low battery charging.
Your new batteries should be fully charged before install by a battery charger.
The generator will take to long to bring them up to full charge and a shore line will keep them topped off so Gen isn't starting and stopping so often.
Once batteries are fully charged you will set the high and low to keep batteries topped off when not on shore power.
The Gen needs house batteries to start which may be drawing to much from the low battery levels so than senses low battery and shuts down.

What is the battery voltage when the EC30 will shut down the generator?

After running the battery down for a day, the EC-30 started the generator at 11.9 and shutdown at 12.8.

Ron, the voltage for charging the batteries should be 13.8 to 14.1 with a float charge of 13.5. http://www.trojanbattery.com/Battery.../Charging.aspx
I think the EC30 battery voltage setting needs to be changed to correct the problem. Let us know what you find.
