Onan Generator Model 4Kyfa26100k

My Onan Generator 4000 is running but I m not getting any power inside the motorhome. Any suggestions? We have checked the breaker on the generator and it is fine.

2009 Fleetwood Jambroee Sport 31N

Thank you,
Beth

I don't know if your unit has an automatic transfer switch or if you need to plug your coach into the generator supply outlet (usually in the same compartment as your shore cord).

Do you have power inside the coach if you plug into shore?
Checked the breakers in the house AC panel?

Thanks for your reply. We do have it plugged into the outlet in the compartment where the power cord is. We think we have checked all breakers. There is power if plugged into shore power.

I'd suggest you check the generator output at the outlet, with a multi meter ? At least then you would know if the generator is generating.
On second thought, more than likely your generator is the problem since everything is fine on shore power.

Ok. As Mich F suggests, check voltage with a meter right at the outlet from the generator that you're plugging your shore cord into. Your series of generator will stop running within a few seconds if it's not producing AC voltage between 100 and 132 volts AC - so I suspect that if you find no voltage at that outlet that there is some issue with the wiring between the generator and the receptacle, most likely right inside the receptacle itself. Check to make sure none of the wires inside have pulled loose.

Just wanted to give an update on this... The problem was that the generator breaker had gone bad. There was also some burnt wiring. We had Cummins Power South in Augusta, GA replace the breaker and the wiring. They had to pull the generator out to do this. Thanks to everyone who commented to help us out!
