Onan Generator Muffler

I have an Onan Marquis Gold 5500 generator in my motorhome. The other day, I noticed the exhaust pipe for the generator was wiggling when the generator was on. I gave it a little wiggle myself and found it to be quite loose.

Today, I took a look at the muffler assembly and found it to be mounted on four springs with a rocker assembly. I can find nothing wrong with the mounting. Parked next me was a new Winnebago Gas motor home so I checked theirs. It wiggles too--maybe not quite as much as mine but I was very gentle with their exhaust pipe.

From the way the mounting of the muffler is designed, it appears wiggling is normal. Is that the case? (I found no exhaust leaks.)

So, if it's not the case, it looks to be a royal pain to get around in the muffler area. Any hints?

Scott

Wiggling is normal. Mine does the same.

Thank you, RV Carl! That's what I was thinking.
