I am in need of a single 7/16 8 pt. 3/8 socket (also known as a double square socket) for use on a square headed Onan genset clean out bolt. Anyone know of an internet vendor selling this single socket?

I know SnapOn has them for $11.00+ . Was hoping to find an inexpensive brand socket, size 7/16 8pt. 3/8 Looked on eBAY and did not see one. For that genset bolt I assume shallow would be aok?

Harbor Freight had a set of 8 point sockets for I think $7.

I have a Sears Craftsman 3/8 square 8pt socket. Your local Sears should stock it. Price is listed as $ 3.79

Well, turned out my buddy down the street had a 7/16 8 pt. 3/8 socket in his tool box. I borrowed it today and did the plug removal/spark arrestor cleaning as per Onan's instructions. Fortunately, the plug came out easily. I did get about a shot glass of soot out . I have 223 hrs. on my Onan 5.5 and the spark arrestor has never been opened/cleaned. Onan maintenance schedule say clean every 50 hrs. Will be a while before I need to clean the arrestor again.
