onan oil filter wrench

i have been searching for an onan oil filter wrench sinch may. i have tried to order on line from any parts rv, Cummins/ Onan Lagrange Il., Cummins/ Onan, Elkhart Indiana, And Camping World. I have come up empty handed every time. I've had no luck at tool and auto parts stores, can't find anything that will work. I'm looking for an oil filter wrench that is used for an Onan 122-0800 Onan oil filter. Any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks

Try one of these. I'm sure about 75% of them will do the job for you. Nothing special about this filter.

spectrum581, when I "googled" the number of my Onan filter wrench (420 0559) I came up with several suppliers. In one of the links it referenced your number oil filter 122-0800 as using this wrench. This wrench does look like the one that Cliff showed in the above link, I'm not sure whether these wrenches are the same however. On my generator this is just about the only way to remove the filter as I don't think there is much room for anything else. Hopefully this will you too.

From someone who has done hundreds of Onan oil changes, a word of caution. The hole in the cooling shroud is only slightly larger that the filter. Not all end cap wrenches will fit. some of the stamp metal wrenches are beveled at the end and are too large to fit the hole. Most of the aluminum wrenches will go in.
