Onan QG 7000 breaker not resetting

I was running my Onan QG 7000 and the microwave tripped on of the two 30 amp fuses on the generator. The blown fuse will not reset when I switch to off and back to on. It just flops back and forth. The good fuse will snap to off and then snap back on.
What am I am doing wrong in resetting this fuse?

Have you fixed the problem with the microwave before you tried to reset the breaker. Even shutting off the unit is not good enough. Try unplugging the unit it maybe a short to the ground of the cabinet.

Hope this helps!

Yes, the issue was because we had an electric heater on at the same time.
Interestingly, I needed to charge the batteries so I started the engine for a little while. On a whim, I went back out to check the genny fuse and I was able to switch it off and then reset to on.
I am not sure if running the engine was coincidence to the fuse resetting. Will need to research and maybe run an experiment or two.

Breakers works by heat.

The current flow heats an element that trips the breaker.

If the breaker is weak or genny running hot the element may not allow it to reset until it cools down some.

If load still present then that also can cause this.

One should have loads turned off when resetting the breaker as it wss designed to break contact on loads but not to control them.
