I have checked the fuel filters by removing them and blowing through them. I have also taken the fuel hose off the carb and then pushed the prime switch. The fuel flows great. A full stream at the carb. I think my problem is connected to the electronics some how since it is temp sensitive. When it quits, it just quits like you shut off the ignition. It does not slobber as it slows down. Can you give me your best guest as to what is wrong?

Here's my latest.m My 5500 is mounted about 12" from the ground so all the exhaust heat from the gen goes right back into the unit. I wrapped the exhaust system with a heavy type of insulating tape and I extended the tail pipe so it will clear in air inlet for the cooling. They use it on hot rod exhaust headers. Then I completely bypassed the fuel system that the generator has. I have a 20 gallon remote fuel tank. I mounted a small electric fuel pump with an on/off switch inside the RV, a regulator (set at 3 psi) an inline fuel filter. I disconnected all onans stuff: The electric fuel pump that they mount inside the unit which gets really hot. All their fuel lines and fuel filter. I replaced with barbed ends and good fuel grade rubber hose. I live in Fresno, CA. Today it was 104 and I ran it for a few hours.....no problems;;yet. It is always when we are 1,000 mile away from home that it goes south. I'll keep you posted.
