Hi All
Thought I would share my experiences with everyone
Our 2009 Itasca came with an Onan KY series 4Kw genset
WOW - what a disappointing machine it has been. My 1987 Motor Home also had a Onan 4Kw genset. This old genset was nice and included a 2 cylinder engine with a proper pressurized oil system and spin on oil filter. I believe it had 450 hours on it when I sold the rig, never any problems. The "New" Onan is a single cylinder splash oil system no oil filter what so ever "JUNK" at the best of times IMHO. The fuel pump stopped working on this new machine after 25 hours of use. Warranty translates to taking the machine to the service center dropping it off and picking up a few days later and 250 miles round trip each time, just to get a new $80.00 pump installed. NOT I ordered the pump and paid the $80.00 and installed it myself. Done, until something else goes wrong with the machine.
I have copies of the service and parts manuals in PDF form if anyone is interested and has this "New" machine. Send me a PM. You will have troubles soon enough.
